Summary on Grant Application Form |
New dehydrogenated forms of arenes and heterocycles (x) and trinuclear and tetranuclear clusters, such as n3H(PPH2) (m3-x) (CO)9 and Ru4 (Pph)(m4-x) (CO)11, will be synthesised. Coordination geometries and dynamics of the m3 and m4 ligands X will show how tilted, vertical parallel, perpendicular or diagonal ligand orientations depends upon arene substituents or heterocycles used. Structure-reactivity relationships and the conversion of aromatic into non-aromatic systems will be examined.
