Summary on Grant Application Form
The programme is collaboration between established groups at Oxford University and RAL having the necessary complementary knowledge and expertise to develop field emission materials for high resolution flat panel displays based upon porous silicon. The essential expertise in the porous silicon material development and its characterisation for field emission will be provided by Oxford.RAL will concentrate upon the development of multi technique microfabrication methods required to produce multilayer field emission material comprising patterned porous silicon cathode, metallised grid, with dielectric and passivating layers.
