Summary on Grant Application Form |
Measure surface wave velocities on adhesive/adherend interlayers in joints with different surface preparations and also after environmental attack using acoustic microscopy and Brillouin spectroscopy.Correlate results with TEM and surface analysis measurements to obtain the elastic properties of the interlayers.Use the elastic properties to predict the stress distribution in typical adhesive joints and hence predict the failure path.
