Summary on Grant Application Form
Ringing is recognized to pose a great potential thereat to offshore operations. It is believed that nonlinear interactions between waves and structures are the cause behind it. The present project aims to develop an efficient methodology suitable for routine industrial applications. It will be based on the approximation that some CPU intensive coefficients can be obtained from a fixed computation domain. The err will be reduced by a correction. The results will then be compared with those obtained from a more accurate method. (Project A3, ULOS Programme).
