Summary on Grant Application Form |
The programme will study the combined effects of exposing composites to water (at elevated temperature) and in-plane biaxial loads and residual properties. The case of in-service damage will be represented by low energy impact testing and measurements will be made of both residual properties (notably compression strength) and also the growth of damage under applied loads. Laminates will be subjected to impact exposure - testing cycles with cruciform specimens subjected to biaxial loads.
