Summary on Grant Application Form
We propose to develop a synthetic strategy to onamycin H1, that is based on a [2+2+2] fragment condensation. We propose to examine the viability of amino-acid triflates for peptide bond formation. We hope to extend our recently introduced method for preparing (3R)-and (3S)- piperazic acids to other more highly functionalised chiral piperazic acid derivatives such as found in monamycin H1.
