Summary on Grant Application Form |
The principles of microwave tomographic imaging of multiphase flow will be investigated and tested by building a demonstrator system and evaluating its performance. Multiple frequencies (0.1 - 13GHz) will be investigated, as a means to discriminate between different flow components and to provide further constraints in the image reconstruction process. Different solutions to inverse scattering problem will be considered. The target flow system for this project is oil/gas/water with water content above 20%, which is not accessible by existing electrical tomography techniques. Spatial resolution of L/10 and temporal resolution greater than 100 frames per second are anticipated.
