Summary on Grant Application Form
The application is for the appointment of a Post-doctoral Research Assistant for a period of three years to assist in the investigation of problems mentioned below. The intention is to obtain asymptotic expansions and other quantitative information for a variety of spectral problems with applications to Schrodinger operators. In particular the investigation of a new definition of resonance will be supported by numerical and algebraic computing, but the goal is to prove theorems suggested by these computations. The techniques involved in the research will be those of operator theory, partial differential equations and other relevant aspects of analysis. Typical examples to be considered will be discrete and continuous Schrodinger operators, waveguides and regions with corners.
