Summary on Grant Application Form |
Paramagnetic contract agents for MRI will be prepared and characterised in collaboration with EU-COST-D8 partners. The factors determining pH-dependent relaxivity in the range 5.5 to 7.5 will be studied, examining a range of structurally related and kinetically robust 7 and 8-co-ordinate complexes. Both targeted Gd complexes (via folate conjugation) and motionally-coupled conjugates with relatively low MW but high intrinsic relaxivities, involving biocompatible gamma cyclodextrin or amino-dextrans will be prepared and studied in detail.
