Summary on Grant Application Form
The output from nine EPSRC supported research programmes will be enhanced by the mid-range computer hardware requested in this application. All are centred on the development and application of computational and theoretical chemistry techniques, but their support is spread across a broad area of EPSRC programmes: Chemistry, Biomolecular Sciences, Physics, Mathematics and Combustion. Chemical reactivity is a recurring theme and spans kinetics and dynamics of radical reactions, solid state catalysis, combustion chemistry and enzyme catalysis. The properties of liquid crystals are also studied. The interactions with experimentalists is central to these projects.
