Summary on Grant Application Form
The CytoCom Network is proposed within the Emerging Computing scheme by a highly multidisciplinary group of scientists who are concerned with ways biomolecules, cells and tissues process information. Over 30 scientists are involved including several from industry. The focus of the group is to enhance computing and IT by (1) developing new models of computation based on the biological source ideas, (2) applying extant and emerging computational methods to challenging cytobiological problems and (3) exploring relations with current and emerging mathematical, computational and biological concepts. In order to achieve this a number or workshops are proposed as well as opportunities for members of the network to visit each other.A number of measurable and achievable objectives are set including collaborative research, publications and grant applications.
