Summary on Grant Application Form
Novel thermally compatible precursors for the deposition of copper indium diselenide and related ternary and quaternary semiconductors will be synthesised. These compounds will be used in the deposition of thin films of ternary and quaternary selenides whichare potentially important collector materials for solar cells.Thin films will be deposited on a range of substrates including conducting, oxided coated, glass. The thin films deposited will be evaluated by a wide range of physical methods. Good quality films will be further processed by the deposition of overlayers of CdS or a relted window material and simple devices will be constructed.
