Summary on Grant Application Form |
The applicant has been granted study leave for the first semester of the 2000/01 academic year. The proposal is to spend this semester at the School of Mathematical Science at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia, and to engage there in collaborative work with Dr LG Kovacs. This will continue our successful collaboration on the module structure of free Lie algebras in positive characteristic, which started in 1996, and has so far lead to 4 joint papers on the subject. Our progress so far has paved the way for attacking the originally motivating problem, the module structure of the free Lie algebra of rank 2 with respect to the full group of graded automorphisms. This will be the main topic of our investigations. Applications to the much more delicate module structure of free Lie rings will be pursued whenever possible.
