Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aim of this project is to develop LES as a reliable simulation method for 3-D circular cylinder flows accounting for Reynolds-numberdependence, dynamic response interaction, and cylinder rotation. State-of-the-art techniques for subgrid modelling and near-wall modellingwill be used. Adaption of high strain concepts developed by the Investigators will be explored. Minimum mesh sizes and the order ofdifference schemes will be examined.
