Summary on Grant Application Form |
Typically, plasma processing of solid surfaces encompasses introducing gas/monomer into an electrical discharge. The desired technical effect is achieved by varying a range of system parameters (pressure, flow rate, power etc), thereby giving rise to a large number of experiments. A more efficient approach is proposed based on the construction of a combinatorial plasma reactor, where all the experiments are performed in one single run using a computer controlled moving substrate, this will give rise to the position along the substrate corresponding to different parameter settings (ie different coating/surface compositions).
