Summary on Grant Application Form |
The King's College portion of this research must be viewed within the framework of the wider LINK CIFD project in which our collaborators (Anite Government Systems Ltd and the Post Office) will feed the research team with end user requirements, data and the expert knowledge base as well as implementing the technology in an operational environment. The King's element of the project focuses on i) project management and ii) development of two computational immune systems. In order to develop the CI systems, King's will assist in the collection and preparation of three datasets (one already existing, the others to be collected from the Post Office). For each dataset, King's will initially expose the CI system to known patterns of normal activity. When the system has recognised (produced detectors for) normal activity. it will be confronted with samples of mixed normal/anomalous activity and be challenged to identify anomalous components. The trained algorithms will subsequently be incorporated into a system framework.
