Summary on Grant Application Form |
In the course of this project we will study electron interactions with CF3I and C2F4. In particular we will:(i) Measure and calculate absolute elastic scattering and momentum transfer cross sections(ii) Derive inelastic cross sections resulting in vibrational and electronic excitation(iii) Probe the inelastic scattering of the mechanisms for the production of CF, CF2 and CF3 neutral radicals and their corresponding negative ions(iv) Use established theoretical techniques to calculate elastic, momentum transfer and excitation cross sections for electron scattering from the dissociative fragments CF, CF2 and CF3.
