Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aim of the project is to obtain descriptors (ie parameters) for ionic species including ions and ion pairs, by applying the Abraham solvation equation to partition coefficients for these species. Once these descriptors have been obtained, they will then be used to predict a very large number of additional partition coefficients, and will be of considerable use in water/membrane and water/liposome partitions, and in 'ion-pair extraction'.
