Summary on Grant Application Form |
We aim To potentially enable 165,000 members of the general public per month to gain awareness of current EPSRC funded research on the face. In particular, how do we recognise the face, how do we react to a face, how can we improve the faces of those with inherited facial deformities or who have had their faces damaged by trauma. To use the exhibition as a way of collecting data for ongoing experiments. To bring to the attention of the general public the potential for interdisciplinary work between Art, Technology and Science. To use the exhibition to provide an environment in which visitors are encouraged to become more aware of their reactions to the face and to identify key ethical and socio-cultural issues arising from recent psychological, biomedical and technological research on the face (with particular respects to understanding the relationships between identity and technology). To share the applicants' expertise in mounting interdisciplinary research exhibition with scholars working in similar areas.
