Summary on Grant Application Form |
This is a proposal for funding a collaborative visit of Serge Massar to Bristol. We will focus on a number of the most topical and significant areas in quantum information theory: (a) the study of non-locality, particularly the non-locality of multi-party quantum states; (b) the relationship between nonlocality and communication complexity; (c) the non-locality of quantum operations; (d) quantum bit-commitment in the presence of noise and (e) optical quantum computing. In each of these areas we believe the combination of the backgrounds and experience of Massar and the researchers in Bristol, Jozsa, Linden, Popescu, Rarity and Winter, building on established collaborations, offers the possibility of substantial progress.
