Summary on Grant Application Form |
The project will explore some of the more important limitations of existing electrical capacitance tomograpgy systems. These will include: geometrical distortion with media having a high permittivity contrast; the need for quantitative measurements; reduced sensitivity in the centre of the object space; lossy materials; axial resolution limited by field fringing. The ultimate aim is to integrate the results from each part of the research into the existing electrical capacitance tomography environment.
