|
This research aims to provide information and knowledge support for the key process of pricing bids made by vendors in response to invitations to bid within the service industries. Two specific bid pricing situations will be addressed with view to finding a generic solution to the problem i.e. pricing of international telecommunications (in collaboration with BT) and the pricing of software (in collaboration with KSS). Prototype bid pricing decision support tools will be built to address for each of the two users the issues both of whether to bid and if so, how to price the bid. For both users, the as is and to be bid pricing processes will be defined to ensure that the prototype tools to be developed do indeed provide useful support for the bid pricing processes in each context.The degree of satisfaction of the users with the tools will be measured through questionnaire before and after use. The results of the research will be directly disseminated to the two user partners and through publications in journals to the international scientific community. In addition, the partner KSS, will market the work at the end of the project.
