Summary on Grant Application Form |
Solid-state NMR will be used to monitor surface active species, observe exchange phenomena, reaction pathways and dynamics during hetrogeneous catalytic events. The specific problems to be tackled are: + To apply the MAT technique to a number of industrially important reactions in order to determine specific geometries of surface species+ To perform very low temperature NMR experiments on small basic probes of both Bronsted and Lewis acidity+ To perform ab initio calculations of chemical shift tensors for adsorbed species in order to cross-correlate experimental and theoretical results in an interactive manner
